The EXE slideshow on this page was created to be viewed on a screen set to 1024 X 768. Failure to watch it in this resolution will mean that the pictures and words may run off your computer screen. There are easy instructions at the bottom of this page for changing your screen resolution.
The MPEG file is second option, for those not able to run .EXE files on their Macs. It is not an optimal platform for viewing the slideshow, as the screen size is much diminished. To improve video viewing experience, resize your desktop to 800 X 600.

Mountain Islands [17.3 MB] .EXE File Format - Best for PC's. You may be prompted to download the ProShow Gold Viewing Software. ProShow is a reliable site. Do not left click on the link. Right click on the picture or underlined link of the show and then "Save Target As" and save the file to your desktop. Open the file once it has finished downloading. Start Slideshow by enlarging your screen, then clicking the picture of the eagle on the title page. You can press ESC on your keyboard at any time to exit the show. |

Mountain Islands [89 MB] MPEG File Format - A viewing option for Mac's that do not have Windows compatible desktop. First preference is to run the .EXE version linked above, if you can, as the MPEG video file is a much larger file to download, and the viewing screen is much diminished in the video file, making it difficult to read text etc. Do not left click on the link. Right click on the picture or underlined link of the show and then "Save Target As" and save the file to your desktop. Please do not "stream" this large video file. Thank you. So, turn down the
lights and crank up the tunes. As always, apologies in advance, but the
exe file linked above will only play on Macs with exe capabilities. System requirements
to view Awoosh slideshows include a sound card and speakers for your computer. Here's
how to easily change your screen resolution: First, minimize this
page and all other windows open on your browser.
Windows 98: Right click
on your desktop. Select "Active Desktop", then
select "Customize My Desktop", then select
the "Settings" tab, and then click and drag
the toggle to 1024X768. Then click Apply. There will
be a few second delay as your desktop is resized and then a screen will
pop up asking you if you would like to keep the new setting. Click Yes. Windows
XP: Right click on your desktop. Select "Properties",
then select the "Settings" tab, and then slide
the toggle to 1024X768 and then click Apply. There will
be a few second delay as your desktop is esized and then a screen will
pop up asking you if you would like to keep the new setting. Click Yes. When you have finished
viewing the show, if you wish you can reset your previous preferences
in the exact same way. The 1024 X 768 screen
size required for viewing this slideshow is different than the other,
older slideshows
on this website, which were created to be viewed in 800 X 600. However,
technology gallops along, and big screens are the new thing, so this and
future shows will be created for larger screens.
